Assembly Passes Bill to Amend AL Quality Reporting Timeframes
Yesterday, the Assembly unanimously passed (145-0) A.925-A (Paulin)/S.762-A (Cleare) to amend the quality measure reporting dates, making the following changes to the bill signed into law by the Governor last month:
- Initial annual report to be completed by April 15, 2025 (previously January 15, 2025)
- Facility posting of information on starting monthly service rates, range for starting rent, among other things to be made publicly available via website and in a public space beginning January 1, 2025 (previously October 1, 2024)
- Department posting of quality reporting measures collected from facilities, effective April 30, 2025 (previously January 31, 2025)
- Department report to the Legislature on the development of a quality scoring system for ACFs no later than December 31, 2025 (previously February 15, 2025)
A.925-A rectifies some concerns NYSCAL had regarding the expeditious timeframe for implementation. NYSCAL will keep members apprised of the legislation’s inevitable passage in the Senate, and ongoing efforts by the Department to continue to convene stakeholders on the development of quality measures. Please be aware that NYSCAL continues to work with the Department and other associations to develop the required program. We greatly appreciate any feedback or input.
