New York State Department of Health Provider Association Call
NYSHFA|NYSCAL participated in a call with the NYSDOH this afternoon. DOH announced there will be a new question on the Staff Testing Survey tomorrow to collect information on the need for additional BinaxNOW COVID-19 antigen test kits. The question will be repeated again in October.
The DOH will be sending out a One-Time HERDS Survey for both Nursing Homes and Adult Care Facilities to collect updated information on existing pharmacy partnerships with facilities to determine both the current source of COVID-19 vaccines and the current level of planning underway for the booster vaccine. This special survey is expected to be released tomorrow or shortly thereafter and will likely be due by tomorrow at 5:00 pm. DOH requested this survey to be completed by either the NHA, DON and/or the Infection Preventionist.
The survey will include about 4 questions on demographical information and further questions on the following:
Who is the facility’s COVID-19 vaccine provider/pharmacy partner?
- Will the COVID-19 vaccines be provided: onsite? At partner location? Or, no plan established at this time?
- Have you contacted your provider/pharmacy for vaccination planning? Yes/No/No partner established
- Has your provider/pharmacy partner agreed to assist with providing booster shots? (Yes/No/No partner established)
- How does your facility plan on administering the influenza vaccine? (Co-administer with COVID-19 vaccines/separate clinics/no plan established at this time)
The DOH is working on a Dear Administrator Letter (DAL) to be released at a later time.
