2026 NYSHFA Awards Programs – Call for Nominations

The Clinical and Quality Services Committee is pleased to announce a call for nominations for the annual Employee Recognition and Volunteer of the Year Awards Programs.

Employee Recognition Program

The goal of the Employee Recognition Program is to honor exemplary employees working in skilled nursing facilities. The five award categories are broken down as follows:  Nursing Awards:  Registered Nurse of the Year, Licensed Practical Nurse of the Year, and Certified Nursing Assistant of the Year.  Non-Nursing Awards:  Manager of the Year and Heart and Hands Award (for non-managerial staff).  Winners in each category will receive a check for $500!

Volunteer of the Year Program

The goal of the Volunteer of the Year Awards program is to recognize outstanding volunteers serving in NYSHFA member health care facilities. The five categories for awards are: Young Adult, Adult, Senior Adult, Group and Spiritual Guidance. Enclosed are the Volunteer of the Year Awards Program Brochure and Nomination Form.

The Clinical and Quality Services Committee will be accepting nominations for the Employee Recognition and Volunteer of the Year Programs until January 9, 2026.

Recipients of the awards will be honored during the 2026 NYSHFA | NYSCAL Annual Conference.
