New York State Department of Health Provider Association Call
NYSHFA participated in a call with the NYSDOH this morning. Agenda items included an update on the TNA to CNA waiver and a presentation from the Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS). Highlights from the call are noted below:
- The NYSDOH stressed the importance of accurate information in applications forwarded to Prometric. Please review all applications thoroughly for accuracy so they may be processed timely.
- The NYSDOH continues to send out a weekly Drupal survey entitled the “TNA-to-CNA Program Waiver Data Survey.” Please ensure you complete the survey as required. The Department utilizes this data to support the ongoing need of the TNA to CNA waiver.
- The NYSDOH would like to encourage facilities to become testing sites, as this will assist in the effort to test aides. If you are interested please contact DOH@health.ny.gov.
- OASAS did a presentation for the group to discuss concerns impacting long-term care facilities and to provide resources for providers with residents that suffer from substance abuse disorders. The presentation will be sent out to providers for review.
- OASAS and the Department of Health are collaborating on a Dear Administrator Letter to provide further information on the topics discussed above, which we will forward to providers when received.
Attached is the presentation from yesterday’s call.
