Last Chance to Register! MDS: Humanizing the Assessment Process and the Connection to Meaningful Care Planning | Two-Part Series. Part One will take place on June 16th.

Presented by: Sheryl B. Rosenfield, RN BC & Alicia Cantinieri, MBA, BSN, RN, RAC-CTA, RAC-CT | Zimmet Healthcare Services Group

The past year has brought dramatic changes in the requirements and delivery of resident care, quality of life, and reimbursement.  Survey deficiencies continue to feature assessment accuracy and care planning for resident needs.  This program is designed to focus on the accuracy of information across multiple components of the EMR, assessment of the resident’s strengths, needs, and goals, and individualized care planning for optimal resident outcomes.

Part I: How to Humanize the MDS Assessment Process

As the care and acuity of residents have increased in the past year, the need for meaningful interviews and accurate functional assessments takes on more importance for Quality of Life in our facilities.

This program is designed to review core MDS item sections and identify high-risk assessment areas that are frequently missing the in-depth information necessary for setting goals and objectives for optimal resident wellness. The program will also address how utilizing EMR modules in facilities can improve and expedite assessment information.

The goal and objectives of the presentation are to provide the foundation and intent of the MDS items to ensure accuracy and capture of information necessary to meet the requirements for appropriate reimbursement and the individualized plan of care for the resident.
