Free Virtual Session on June 23, 2021 from 1:30 – 2:45pm – Improving Cyber Security of New York’s Healthcare Sector

On behalf of the New York Healthcare Cyber Alliance (NYHCA), you are cordially invited to attend a virtual event on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 from 1:30 – 2:45 pm.

The New York Healthcare Cyber Alliance (NYHCA) is an independent initiative under the umbrella of the Governor’s NYS Cyber Advisory Board. NYHCA is composed of executives from health organizations who are committed to improving the cyber posture of New York’s healthcare sector.  NYHCA’s mission is to heighten awareness of critical cybersecurity issues that impact the healthcare community in New York, especially those entities which have been underserved, such as our long-term care facilities.

Why it is important that you attend this special kick-off event:

  • First, this session will feature a conversation with Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance, Jr.  District Attorney Vance led the groundbreaking work to establish the New York City Cyber Critical Services and Infrastructure (NYC CCSI), a public-private partnership designed to protect New York City’s infrastructure – including emergency services, water systems, energy producers, and many other critical services – from cyberattacks through intelligence-sharing, training and education, and coordinated response efforts. The NYHCA is looking to replicate this public-private partnership for the benefit of all New York State healthcare organizations.
  • Second, you will hear from a cybersecurity expert on current and future healthcare cyber threats and what to do and how to prepare for them.
  • Third, you will gain insight from healthcare experts on the issues and needs facing all small and medium sized health organizations.
  • Lastly, this event will lay out the next steps to being better cyber secured to face what lies ahead.

The June 23rd virtual meeting is the first step in NYHCA’s efforts to build and provide attendees with:

  • Communities of interest;
  • Shared resources and collaboration regarding our collective efforts to mitigate cyber risks; and
  • Support before, during and after increasingly common cyberattacks.
