Clarification of COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements for Skilled Nursing Facilities and Adult Care Facilities

In August 2021, the New York State Department of Health released emergency regulations requiring that personnel of skilled nursing & adult care facilities become fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Please note, in order to be considered fully vaccinated, personnel must receive both doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or one dose of the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson vaccine. The DOH defines fully vaccinated as being 2 or more weeks after the final dose (e.g., first for Janssen/Johnson & Johnson, second for Pfizer and Moderna) of the vaccine approved by the FDA or authorized by the FDA for emergency use.
