Update on Project Firstline NY

The Foundation for Quality Care (FQC) was awarded a grant funded by the New York State Department of Health (DOH) and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) called Project Firstline NY.   FQC, along with our other partners, will be providing infection control training to both skilled nursing and assisted living facility workers in all disciplines across New York State through the CDC training modules that are easily accessible, concise and engaging. The goal is to educate all facility frontline workers about infectious disease threats and how to control the spread of the disease through effective infection control practices.

The Administrator of your facility will be receiving a letter announcing the PFL plan for education, the release of Learning Needs Assessment and informational posters.  The Learning Needs Assessment can be accessed in multiple ways and is available in English and Spanish and will assist FQC in gathering data on how to best provide this infection control training to all of your facility frontline workers.  In order to determine the easiest and most effective way to provide infection control training that will work in your facility, it is important that you distribute the Learning Needs Assessment to all staff in your facility, promote completion of the assessment by all staff and ensure the return of the assessment through the instructions provided.   Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
