Office of the New York State Comptroller Conducting (OSC) Audit of NYSDOH Infection Control Data

NYSHFA has been notified that some providers have randomly received an email from OSC requesting information on an audit they are conducting of DOH’s collection, use, and reporting of infection control data . Specifically, OSC will be following up with selected nursing homes to request supporting documentation to the numbers reported in HERDS for 4 dates with approximately 26 fields on each survey date (the fields will remain the same for each of the 4 dates). NYSHFA has confirmed with NYSDOH this is an active DOH audit.
