State Budget Negotiations Churn On
The State Legislature and the Governor are still in negotiations over provisions in the final State budget with conversations hinging upon bail reform. While technically the budget deadline was April 1st, the Legislature passed a budget bill this past Monday to extend the deadline to April 10th so that the state workforce could get paid on time. Our advocacy continues and we are hopeful that a 20% increase in the Medicaid reimbursement rate will ultimately prevail. We have also had continued conversations about assisted living quality measure reporting and ensuring that a two-year delay accompanies this provision so that stakeholders can engage with the State on how these measures are developed and implemented.
