Lobby Day – A Success!

Yesterday, NYSCAL members descended upon the State Capitol to advocate on behalf of New York’s seniors that call assisted living their home and to show support for the healthcare workforce. The NYSCAL team met with the Legislature, Governor’s Office, and the Division of Budget on the Governor’s proposed FY2024-25 Executive Budget and to advance NYSCAL’s legislative priorities such as:

• Increasing the Medicaid reimbursement rate for ALPs
• Increasing SSI payments for ALPs
• Continuing the Statewide Healthcare Facility Transformation Funding (“Statewide V”)
• Making the SNALR Voucher Demonstration Program for Persons with Dementia permanent
• Expanding the Vital Access Provider Assurance Program (VAPAP) for ALs to access
