Minimum Wage Increase
The minimum wage has increased across New York State as of January 1, 2024.
NYC, Westchester, Nassau, and Suffolk counties: increased from $15/hr to $16/hr
All other areas in New York: increased from $14/hr to $15/hr
Home Care Aides Downstate: increased from $17/hr to $18.55/hr
Home Care Aides in all other areas of New York: increased from $16.50/hr to $17.55
Note: For areas subject to wage parity requirements, the home care wage increase is accompanied by a decrease of $1.55 in the benefit portion of the wage parity amount.
The minimum wage will further increase at set amounts at the start of 2025 and 2026. After, increases will be based on changes in the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners (CPI-W).
