2024 SSI Benefit Chart Available

The Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA) has released the 2024 SSI and SSP Maximum Monthly Benefit Levels Chart, incorporating the 3.2% federal COLA increase for the year. Click HERE to view.

Residents of adult care facilities (ACFs) are classified as Congregate Care Level 3 on the chart. Starting January 1, 2024, the federal monthly Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefit for adults in ACFs will be $943, and the Supplemental Security Program (SSP) benefit remains at $694. This results in a combined monthly benefit of $1,637, inclusive of a $249.00 Personal Needs Allowance. Therefore, ACF providers will receive $1,388 per month for individuals receiving SSI and SSP.

Reminder- ACF facilities are required to give residents a minimum of 30 days’ notice for any rate increase, while assisted living residences should provide at least 45 days’ notice. In the previous year’s Dear Administrator letter (DAL) addressing the SSI rate increase, the Department of Health (DOH) emphasized that an operator can implement a rate increase with less than the standard notice if the resident voluntarily agrees in writing. In both scenarios, operators must amend the admission/residency agreement and extend, in writing, the option for eligible residents to place Personal Needs Allowance funds in an account maintained by the facility.
