DOH: Increase in Severe Respiratory Illness Associated with Rhinoviruses and/or Enteroviruses including EV-D68

An increase in pediatric hospitalizations in patients with severe respiratory illness who also tested positive for rhinovirus (RV) and/or enterovirus (EV) has been reported in several regions of the US; healthcare facilities in New York State and New York City are seeing such pediatric hospitalizations. Please refer to the attached NYSDOH and NYCDOHMH Health Advisory including Health Update from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC): Severe Respiratory Illnesses Associated with Rhinoviruses and/or Enteroviruses Including EV-D68 Multistate, 2022, dated September 9, 2022.
