Master Plan for Aging-Listening Session-Rochester – August 10, 2023

On behalf of Governor Kathy Hochul, the NYS Department of Health and the NYS Office for the Aging would like to invite you to a New York Master Plan for Aging (MPA) Listening Session in Rochester on August 10, 2023, which will detail the efforts that the state—through philanthropic, academic, private, and local partnerships—is taking toward becoming the most age- and disability-friendly state in the nation, with the goal of advancing transformative and cross-cutting strategies to address issues that all New Yorkers encounter within their lifetimes—and to do so with a sustained focus on ensuring equity in aging and disability.

Governor Hochul signed Executive Order 23 in November 2022, calling for the development of a Master Plan for Aging with the goals of improving the lives of today’s older New Yorkers and people with disabilities and building a better system of care and more inclusive communities for tomorrow. We have built momentum since last November and are inviting the public to join this critical effort.

Listening Session details and registration information:

  1. The Listening Session will take place on August 10, 2023, from 1 PM – 2 PM at Pieters Family Life Center Auditorium. This is an accessible facility located at 1025 Commons Way, Rochester, NY 14623.
  2. Registration is required for this event. Please register here to attend in person.
  3. If you require a reasonable accommodation to participate in the event, please contact MPATownHall@health.ny.gov before August 7.

We hope you will join us in this process and help us identify more opportunities to ensure that older adults and individuals of all ages can live healthy, fulfilling lives while aging with dignity and independence.
