On Nov. 18, 2024, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released QSO-25-07-NH regarding significant changes to the LTC survey process and published these changes in Appendix PP of the State Operations Manual (SOM) in Feb. 2025. A revised QSO-25-12-NH changed the effective date from Feb. 24 to Mar. 24, 2025, at which time surveyors will begin using the guidance to determine compliance. This session will provide an overview of these changes and as well as steps organizations need to take to prepare.

- Recognize the updates to Appendix PP taking effective April 28, 2025.
- Recognize the Psychosocial Outcome Severity Guide and understand how this is used during survey.
- Understand the importance of the Critical Element Pathways and how these tools can help establish and maintain compliance.
- Develop a strategy to assist with prioritizing operational changes necessary to ensure compliance.
