In Memoriam: Elaine Liebman

It is with regret that I inform you of the death of Elaine Liebman, a pioneer in the nursing home industry and longtime friend of the Association. Alongside her late husband Bert Liebman, she founded Grand Manor Nursing Home in the Bronx, setting a standard of care and compassion. With over 50+ years dedicated to the industry, Elaine’s legacy spans multiple nursing homes, leaving an indelible mark on countless lives. Her passing on April 27th, 2024, at the age of 97, leaves a void felt deeply by her family—son Martin Liebman, past Chair of NYSHFA and daughter Shari Rosenblatt—and by all who knew her. Elaine’s unwavering commitment to excellence and her compassionate spirit will be dearly missed, but her influence will continue to resonate in the nursing home industry she helped shape.
