ALP Minimum Wage Survey

On December 9, 2022, the New York State Department of Health issued a Dear Administrator Letter, instructions, attestation and an excel minimum wage template requesting Assisted Living Programs (ALPs) complete and submit a survey to determine the financial impact of the minimum wage increases for the calendar years 2022 and 2023.   Surveys are due by COB, Friday, December 23, 2022.

On that same date, NYS DOH issued a clarification relating to the $2 home care minimum wage increase, which became effective in October 2022, and revised the instructions and excel spreadsheet.

For Home Care workers that were eligible for the $2 increase, the 2023 minimum wage rate is $16.20 in the “rest of state” region.  For all other staff, the 2023 “rest of state” minimum wage rate is $14.20.  Note that eligibility for the October 2022 Home Care worker $2 was explained within the communication from the Department dated September 30, 2022.

NYSCAL has asked DOH questions about the NYC facilities and is currently waiting for a response.
