Weekly Q&A

Q: For a medical equipment waiver, does the annual assessment, evaluating the resident’s ability to independently and safely use the equipment also have to include an assessment of the resident’s need for the equipment? Do we need to submit it to DOH?

A: Yes, it must be completed and kept on file. It does not need to be submitted to DOH every year.

Q: We’re a SNARL- do we have to hold resident’s money for them? We don’t have an official office to hold it, so it’s tricky.

A: No, you are not obligated to hold money for residents.
