ALP/Hospice Workgroup

New York State held the first of five meetings of the ALP/Hospice Workgroup in response to bill A.4016 (Raga)/S.1349 (Rivera)

The meeting had representation from several groups: hospice, legal, associations and the Department of Health to discuss existing hospice requirements and identify duplication under the assisted living program (ALP) benefit, discussion on developing policies to provide clear delineation of hospice and ALP services, and to craft a Medicaid State Plan Amendment and regulations to codify the identified practices developed by the workgroup.

NYSCAL will report out to members after each meeting and will be seeking input from providers to bring forward to the workgroup to ensure discussions include that member’s opinions are heard.  If you have any input that you would like me to bring forward to the workgroup, please reach out to me at loconnell@nyshfa-nyscal.org
