A Look Behind the Scenes

NYSCAL has been working on several issues behind the scenes and wants to keep you advised as to what we have been doing.

NYSCAL has been working with the other ACF Associations and Senators to attempt to secure additional funding to offset the devastating financial effects that COVID has brought to the industry.  We are currently drafting a second round of letters for follow up.

We have sent in comments in opposition to the Transitional Adult Home Space Requirement Regulations that appeared in the State Register, dated October 6, 2021, and will continue to follow-up on this issue.

We are working with the Department of Health and the Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement regarding Class 3A licensure for Enriched Housing Programs that do not have additional licensure as ALP, ALR, SNALR or EALR.

We have been working with the Foundation for Quality of Care, the Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control to provide infection control training to all facility staff with no cost to the facility.  Along with this, we have been developing training that will prove helpful and informative for our members.

NYSCAL is working on our website so Assisted Living providers will have there own designated area for Assisted Living where providers will be able to obtain policies, guidance, regulations and education.

These are just a few things we are doing “behind the scenes”.
