AHCA/NCAL: Upcoming Webinar – Independent Contractors Final Rule and LTC Provider Impact

Last month, the U.S. Department of Labor published a final rule, entitled Employee or Independent Contractor Classification Under the Fair Labor Standards Act, which goes into effect on March 11, 2024. This rule revises the Department’s guidance on how the agency determines who is an employee or independent contractor under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

AHCA/NCAL will host a webinar on Friday, March 8 at 1:00 p.m. EST on how the new final rule will impact the workplace of long term care providers and answer questions providers have. Specifically, the webinar will help attendees:

  • Understand what this new final rule means as a long term care provider and how to limit potential risk for employee misclassification claims.
  • Understand how this new final rule differs from the guidance provided in the 2021 Independent Contractor Rule.
  • Learn more on the ongoing legislative efforts around worker classification issues.
  • Prepare to meet the compliance effective date.

This webinar is open to everyone and free for all AHCA/NCAL members.
