DOH: Important Update – Using Unique Emails for HCS Account Contact

In our ongoing efforts to enhance security and user experience, we will be implementing a crucial update for HCS user accounts starting in March.

Beginning March 14, 2024, each HCS user account will be required to have a unique email address associated with it. This change aims to strengthen the security of HCS accounts and provide more flexibility for users with self password reset and the Multifactor Authentication (MFA) service.

Please take note that user unique email address will now be associated as a unique identifier with HCS account used strictly for account management and login. Users can continue to use the current business and emergency contact email in HCS account for the purpose of communication as is.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work towards creating a safer and better user experience. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this update, feel free to reach out to Commerce Accounts Management Unit (CAMU) at 866-529-1890 or at camu@health.ny.gov.
