As a NYSHFA member, one lucky employee pursuing licensure as an LPN or RN at a member facility is eligible to receive a $2,000 scholarship. That’s $2,000 being invested in our future workforce and that’s priceless.
We are awarding six $2,000 scholarships this year for employees at NYSHFA | NYSCAL member facilities pursuing a long-term care nursing career. One $2,000 scholarship is reserved for the Skilled Nursing Category, available to students pursuing licensure as an LPN or RN.
Category I: Students pursuing licenses as a practical nurse or registered nurse. Three scholarships for $2,000 each are available for the Category I Scholarship.
Category II: Registered nurses pursuing advanced degrees in nursing (Bachelors, Masters, Doctorate, Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Specialist). Two scholarships for $2,000 each are available for the Category II Scholarship.
Eligibility:
- Employed by a NYSHFA | NYSCAL member facility in good standing (at time of application and award)
- Applying to, enrolled in, or accepted by an accredited nursing program for the 2026–2027 academic year
