Master Plan for Aging Listening Session-Johnson City-Thursday, November 9, 2023

On behalf of Governor Kathy Hochul, the NYS Department of Health and the NYS Office for the Aging would like to invite you to a New York Master Plan for Aging (MPA) Listening Session on November 9, 2023. The Listening Session provides the public a chance to give their input and details the efforts that the state—through philanthropic, academic, private, and local partnerships—is taking toward becoming the most age- and disability-friendly state in the nation. The goal of the MPA is advancing transformative and cross-cutting strategies to address issues that all New Yorkers encounter within their lifetimes—and to do so with a sustained focus on ensuring equity in aging and disability.

Governor Hochul signed Executive Order 23 in November 2022, calling for the development of a Master Plan for Aging with the goals of improving the lives of today’s older New Yorkers and people with disabilities and building a better system of care and more inclusive communities for tomorrow. We have built momentum since last November and are inviting the public to join this critical effort.

The Listening Session will take place on November 9, 2023, from 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM at Johnson City Senior Center. This is an accessible facility located at 30 Brocton Street Johnson City, NY 13790.
