CMS Issues FY 2022 Proposed Payment Rule

CMS has issued the 2022 SNF Prospective Payment Rule, which when finalized in the upcoming months, will become effective on 10/1/21.  The Proposed Rule included a market basket increase of 1.3% (approximately $444M nationwide).  Members should note the Proposal’s possible adjustment/recalibration of the PDPM Model due to increased spending since its enactment on 10/1/19.  (See the AHCA summary link ppgs 6-8) in the attached overview of the Proposed Rule.  AHCA/NYSHFA will keep members updated throughout the upcoming CMS comment period as the Proposed Rule is finalized.
