The Health Care Worker Bonus Round Two is scheduled for January 11, 2023 release
NYSHFA|NYSCAL has confirmed with DOH that round two of the Health Care Worker Bonus payment tied to the second claim period (October 1st through November 30, 2022) is scheduled for release via Medicaid payment Cycle # 2366 (check release date of 1/11/23). Providers who used the grace period for the first vesting period during the October to November submission timeframe should receive funding as well.
On December 22, 2022, the Department updated the Tax questions and Payment Issuance tabs of the Frequently Asked Questions which can be found at the following link: https://www.health.ny.gov/health_care/medicaid/providers/hwb_program/hwb_program_faq.htm
Providers will see the code “HWB” and reimbursement for FICA taxes “FTX” on the Medicaid remittance statement as was previously done. Those wishing to verify funding schedules can call 866-307-5549.
NYSHFA|NYSCAL continues to advocate for the Health Care Worker Bonus to include expanded employer and contracted staff, however, no additional information on expanding the program has been made available at this time.
