Purpose: Discuss the NYSDOH Health Advisory: Revised LTC Facility Visitation and Reopening Guidance for Medical Model Adult Day Health Care Program
Last evening, the NYSDOH released updated nursing home and assisted living visitation guidance and reopening guidance for ADHCP. Please read through the entire set of documents most applicable to your facility as the revised documents are lengthy but contain a significant number of new directions. ** Of note: The revised NYSDOH nursing home visitation guidance is consistent with the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (“CMS”) memorandum QSO-20-39-NH and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”) guidelines, with the exception of the section entitled “Potential Visit Exposures.” This section requires the facility to evaluate the extent of the visit exposure and based on such evaluation take appropriate actions. At the NYSHFA-NYSCAL Town Hall, we will highlight the significant changes as stated in both the assisted living and the nursing home revised visitation advisories.
