NYSDOH Announces Office of Aging and Long-Term Care

Dr. Bassett, NYS Commissioner of Health, established the Office of Aging and Long-Term Care (OALTC) as a strategic priority to ensure New Yorkers can age in place as long as possible with dignity and independence and have access to quality care if they need it.

Adam Herbst was appointed Deputy Commissioner of OALTC. During a call this week with the LTC provider associations, Mr. Herbst announced the OALTC will have six new Centers. There will be further details over the next several weeks including Center staff appointments. The OALTC Centers include:

  1. Center for Aging and LTC Finances and Supports
  2. Center for LTC Licensure, Planning and Finance
  3. Center for LTC Survey and Operations
  4. Center for Aging and LTC Regulatory and Policy Initiatives
  5. Center for Budget and Administration
  6. Center for Data Collection, Analysis & Management
