Stephen Hanse, NYSHFA/NYSCAL President and CEO, is pleased to announce that two NYSHFA Members have been selected as recipients in the American Health Care Association / National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) 2022 AHCA/NCAL Awards Program. Each year, AHCA/NCAL recognizes the men and women who generously care for individuals in long term and post-acute care centers, as well as those who represent the best of the assisted living sector. These honorees demonstrate selflessness and compassion while striving to enhance the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities in their communities.

Larry Slatky of Shaker Place Rehab Nursing Center in Albany has received the AHCA Administrator of the Year award.  This award recognizes an administrator or executive director who demonstrates outstanding innovation, achievement, and capabilities in their provision of high-quality, person-centered care in a service-oriented culture in a long term care facility.

Mario Whitt of Harris Hill Nursing Facility in Williamsville has received the AHCA Noble Caregiver Award. This award recognizes frontline caregivers, support and office staff from any department for their contributions that lead to improved quality of life for the residents and create a better work environment for the facility’s staff.

“Working in long term care is a calling and takes special, dedicated people like this year’s amazing award recipients,” said AHCA/NCAL President and CEO Mark Parkinson. “We are privileged to recognize all of these individuals who consider it their life’s work to serve their residents who rely on this care.”

AHCA/NCAL award recipients will be honored at the 73rd AHCA/NCAL Convention & Expo to be held October 9-12, 2022, in Nashville, Tennessee. PLEASE CONSIDER JOINING IN ON THE CELEBRATION. REGISTER NOW!
