Updates to ALR Regulations

Final regulations have been posted in today’s State Register as they relate to updates in admission, operator authority, personnel, environmental standards, and resident protections in ALRs. Specifically,  ALRs must notify veterans and their spouses in writing of their right to receive benefit assistance from the federal government for their housing in an ALR; any facility fee increase must be conveyed to residents 45 days prior to such increase; removes the requirement that an operator shall not convey the facility’s title or enter into a lease or other use agreement unless they provide prior approval of the Department; and finally, among other things, adopts changes to existing regulations of fire alarms.
